For over 22 years Stephen D. Lipman, D.M.D. has been a fundamental part of the Windsor community. Located in the heart of Windsor center at 230 Broad Street, Dr. Lipman sees patients, both young and old; practicing what he feels is his unique style of family dentistry. Unlike many of today’s large offices with cold impersonal care, Dr. Lipman and his staff offer a friendly, warm and caring environment to their patients. According to Dr. Lipman, “it’s a throw back to days gone by. I’m the village doc. I care about each and every one of my patients and take the time to listen and to understand what they are saying to me. I consider them part of my extended family. I feel I should give my patients the care I would expect for myself if I was in their shoes and nothing less.”
Despite the small town feel, Dr. Lipman’s office has the latest in dental technology. For patient safety, Dr. Lipman’s office uses the latest in recommended sterilization techniques. In addition, Dr. Lipman has brought many of dentistry’s recent advances to Windsor. “I’m a technology buff and I love to bring these developments to my patients as long as I feel they will truly benefit from them.”
“For example we currently use Digital Radiography (CDR) to take all our dental x-rays. It’s a tremendous tool. Instead of processing an image to photographic film, the image is assembled in a computer and instantly displayed on a monitor. Both the dentist and patient can easily observe and discuss what issues are at hand. This is all done at an exposure level that’s been shown to be up to 90 percent less than conventional x-rays.”

In just about an hour, patients can safely whiten their teeth to levels that beat their expectations almost every time. We’ve recently received the latest upgrade to the system and the results thus far have been excellent. ”

A graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Lipman actively belongs to the World Clinical Laser Institute, the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association and the Hartford Dental Society.
Dr. Lipman also feels it’s important to give back to the community. He regularly visits classrooms to teach dental education in our schools. His office doors are always flung open to participate in Nightmare on Broad Street, the Windsor Chamber of Commerce’s colossal Halloween event. Dr. Lipman is also a big supporter of Food Share. In addition, he’s the immediate past president of Beth Hillel Synagogue in Bloomfield and is a past Rotarian. Dr. Lipman and his wife Shelley reside here in Windsor along with their two children and pet pooch (a rescued greyhound).
